The establishment of the
Resource Center goes back to the establishment of the Association itself.
The Association initially served as a center of information exchange for
relief activities during the great famine of Ethiopia in 1973/74. The
Resource Center, which started its service in a crude form with limited
number of reading materials and users, has now evolved into a Center where
diversified information on NGOs is available. The Resource Center serves
more than 200 CRDA members as well as researchers, college and university
students, people from the media, private and other organizations.
Objective
The prime objective of the Resource Center is to support the work of member
agencies and other development partners through information provision. By
doing so, it contributes to:
Increasing the knowledge base of users;
Enhancing understanding and collective learning among members and
other partners;
Facilitating information exchange; and
Building the capacity of member and partner agencies through
information.
Reference materials and books/publications with single copy which are used
as reference and have high demand will not be checked out.
